Hello lovely bloggers!!
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend,
So much to catch you up on!!
I have been busy with orders this week but have spent last night and today playing around with some old photos in photoshop...
This is my sister Deb (left)and I in 1962..
It was a very small old black and white photo so I made it sepia toned and added some colour!
I love how it turned out :)!
I am going to make it into a shabby pillow for her for her birthday..
didn't I have the cupie-doll hair thing down pat!!
And this one is of my Grandpa and a couple of visitors to the Tower of London..
I have mentioned before that he was a Beefeater and I just love this photo of him in his uniform..
This was another black and white photo which I sepia toned, then added some colour to the ladies clothes for effect..
And did I tell you I ordered a Sizzix Big Shot Machine a few weeks ago!
I got totally excited when I found out that they cut fabric!!!!
I am still waiting for it to arrive but a few of the dies I ordered got here on Friday!
I can't wait to try these Tim Holtz dies -
The Sizzix machine is much cheaper than an Accu-quilt
and you can fit Accu-quilt dies into them
along with alot of other dies also.
....We are in the middle of our very stormy season here in Perth,
the perfect weather for sewing
(isn't all weather perfect for sewing though?!)
so here is what I have been working on today -
I printed these photos out onto printable fabric sheet...
This is my mum when she was a little girl..
the embroidery says 'My beautiful Mother' in French (I googled it so I hope it's right LOL!!)
I tea stained one of these Riley Blake Crochet flowers to match..
then added a bit of lace....
What do you think of this little maltese puppy !!
I got the picture from 'The Graphics Fairy'
her designs are just beautiful and she is so very generous with all her free downloads...
...added some sweet rosette lace and a bit of bling!.
All bound and ready for stuffing
ooohhh, isn't he adorable!!
... how much does my mum look like Dorothy Gale from the Wizard of Oz?!
In fact when I had finished them both I realised that together they look like
Dorothy and Toto!!!
hehe, we're not in Kansas though!!
.. and here is a cute quilted set of Sox I just finished that are on their way to the US...
Sorry if this post is a bit of a mish mash!!
Just a bit tired I think ;)!
Back soon with more!
Hugs,
