French Lace Batiks

Remember those gorgeous French Lace Batiks I got way back before Christmas!
(Remember?)

Well, I finally pulled them and out and began a bit of applique with them...

(of course I used my Sizzix!)

(and my Tim Holtz Fleur De Lis die again -I know, I know!!!)

I decided to do a bit of thread painting on the applique..

It gave it a real boho look...

I am making table runners and I am pretty pleased with the result of this one!
it's for the songstress..

I have been meaning to make her one for her new furniture!!
Hope she likes it!!

I have had a few requests on where I got my clever little Sizzix Machine!

If you are interested just stop by and see the very helpful Leanne from
  Create Beautiful Cards
on Ebay!

and she has loads of dies including Accuquilt ones that will fit in the machine as long as you have the extended cutting plates!!

Hope this helps!

And I am just about to add this little 'girl'
(she looks like a girl Sock!)
to my shop...
What do you think?

My Sizzix big boy - It's here, It's here!!

It arrived this morning and I couldn't wait to use it !!

First I just grabbed some cardstock and rolled through some using my Tim Holtz for Sizzix Fleur De Lis die.
(ooh! I just wanted to cut something!!!)

Then I grabbed some of the pre-prepared (with heat and bond!) fabrics that were in my applique box, to do a few fabric cuts,
(like I said, just wanted to cut something ;)!!)

Here is the die, I am placing it on the cutting mat

Topping it with the pre prepared heat and bonded  fabric..

Making my sizzix Sandwich
(ie; adding the second cutting plate on top to hold it into place)

Then I just crank round the handle and run  it through my Sizzix!!
(there are two large rollers in the machine that give you perfect steady cuts!)

You can't see my hand but I am turning the handle and it roles the fabric and die sandwich through..

Then  lift fabric..

And Wha-la!

Perfect Perfect Fleur De Lis ready to be ironed on to your quilt or pillow and stitched around the edge...

Even though I have a few other dies, I stuck with this one to make a Raw edge applique  european pillow cover or maybe a doll  quilt...

What do you think?
Not finished yet, have to decide what to do with it!

I cannot believe how easy this machine makes cutting out applique!
If I had know how cheap they were and how many different company's metal dies you can use in them I would have bought one ages ago!!

I love it!!!!

Now I just gotta get more than three dies ;)!

Hope you are well!

Shabby Union Jack Pillow

I have wanted a shabby Union Jack pillow for ages, but knew it would clash with my old floral suite...

But not any more!!

Knocked this up today, twas easy peasy, just cut, pin and sew!

I left the edges of the fabric raw and used a blanket stitch on them..

On with the white!

...on with the big red cross and wha-la!
so simple!

love it!!  :)!

Busy week of orders ahead but will be back soon ;)!
